Research studies have shown the impact meditation has on rewiring the brain, improving sleep, memory. It increases relaxation, resilience and compassion while reducing stress, anxiety, depression and pain.

There are multiple ways to meditate ranging from mindfulness to loving kindness meditation. Payal encourages her students to meditate daily, beginning with 5 minutes and eventually increasing to 20 minutes. Here are a few of her favorite techniques below:

1- Focus on your breath. Count how long you breathe in and breathe out.
2- Feel sensations in your body. Where do you feel cold or hot?
3- Repeat out loud or in silence a Mantra – for example, I am home, I am.
