Payal is a private dealer, curator and advisor of art. She specializes in photography and contemporary art, with a focus on talent inspired by India. Payal served on the board of the American Visionary Art Museum (2021-2024). After working with leading galleries in New York City, she founded Payal Arts International in 2008. This art consultancy practice is dedicated to showcasing artists, as well as advising new art enthusiasts and seasoned art collectors.
Through research, strategy, innovation, commitment and her extensive network of relationships, Payal guides her clientele on every aspect of their unique journey. Payal Parekh graduated with a BA in Art History from Mount Holyoke College in 2001 and received an MA specializing in Contemporary Art from Sotheby's Institute, London in 2003. She has worked in both London and New York and held the position of Assistant Director at Fredericks & Freiser Gallery (New York), Silverstein Photography (New York) and Edwynn Houk Gallery (New York). Ms. Parekh also served as Director of Contemporary Photography at the Robert Miller Gallery (New York), Director of Sales at Sepia International Inc. (New York), a commercial gallery specializing in South Asian and Asian photography, and has collaborated with contemporary art gallery Room East (New York). In addition, Payal Parekh has appeared in the following publications: Vogue India, December 2010; Wallpaper, 2012; Harper's Bazaar India, March 2014; and The New York Times, June 2022 .
